About Acme Metric Company

What is Acme Metric Company?

Acme Metric Company is a full service Internet company, aimed at small to medium sized organizations looking to begin or expand their Internet presence. We help you make your website and your Internet presence more findable, relevant and usable.

We can help your business create a usable website that's easy to find and create or improve your social media and Internet marketing presence. For now, we're a small company. We like to keep our administrative costs down. And our clients share in the benefit.

Why hire us?

We want to help businesses improve their experiences and effectiveness on the Internet. It's our passion. It's our experience. It's our skill. It's what we like to do, and we're good at it.

Much of what defines us is what we don't do. We don't sell services you don't need. We don't push a reluctant client into a new area. We don't talk solutions before we understand your challenges.

We take a structured approach to the work we do so that what we provide is what you need and what we agreed on. We want you to walk away happy with the services we provide. In fact, we want you to tell other people how great we are.

Who is Acme Metric Company?

Acme Metric Company is not some monolithic organization. For now, it's fundamentally the two of us. Kevin's the designer who eats, breathes and sleeps usability. He wears the black t-shirts. Howard's the CA with the business, knowledge management, internet search, and Google Analytics and AdWords background. He still wears a suit and tie.

Between us, we've spent more than 35 years helping organizations manage information. We both love using different technologies and talking to people about them, whether in social media or good, old-fashioned conversations. Sometimes you can't shut us up.

Howard Deane

Howard is a Chartered Accountant who found his enthusiasm for technology and information early in his career, and his passion for the power of the Internet somewhat later. His true calling came in 1984, when he bought one of the first Macintosh computers off the assembly line. He spent the next twenty years designing, developing, and implementing strategies for tax, knowledge management, internet, intranet, extranet and financial statement systems across Canada for KPMG. By the time he left KPMG he was the firm's Canadian Chief Knowledge Officer. More recently he's been consulting in knowledge management, Internet marketing, web analytics, and social media for a variety of businesses and government and not-for-profit organizations.

Kevin Sczepanski

Kevin has been using technology to help people share information since he was a teenager. In 1985 Kevin was a system operator for a popular Toronto bulletin board system (an Internet-like system before there was an Internet), working out of his parent's basement in Scarborough. He then went on to study print and new media design and became Webmaster and manager of web development at KPMG. Recently, he's been spending his time helping clients with web design and development, information architecture, user experience design, and social media.
